October to March
Perfect for the 23 km Govardhan Parikrama. Cool weather (8–22°C) makes the sacred walk comfortable. Govardhan Puja — celebrated the day after Diwali — is the town's most important festival, with an elaborate Annakut offering of 56 food items.
Govardhan Puja (Oct/Nov)
The day after Diwali, Govardhan is transformed. Thousands of devotees prepare towers of food (annakut) and offer them to Lord Krishna, who lifted this very hill. The Mansi Ganga area is beautifully illuminated and the atmosphere is deeply devotional and celebratory.
Monsoon (July–September)
The hill and kunds fill with water, making Govardhan lush and deeply atmospheric. The parikrama becomes more challenging but spiritually charged. Jhulanotsava (swing festival of Radha-Krishna) is celebrated beautifully during this season.
