Radha Rani Temple (Shriji Mandir)
Perched atop the highest of Barsana's four sacred hills, this grand sandstone temple is the most important shrine dedicated to Srimati Radharani — worshipped as the supreme deity of Barsana, not merely as Krishna's consort. The deity 'Ladli Shriji' (the beloved daughter) is dressed in elaborate garments and jewelry, and her daily shringara (adornment) ceremonies are attended by thousands of pilgrims. The climb up the carved steps to the temple, with panoramic views opening at every landing, is itself a pilgrimage.
